A Research about Supported Employment for Persons with Disability in Malta. 

This is a Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme (VOPS) 2023 funded by the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector (MCVS). 

MASE wants to assess how Malta is performing with regards to Supported Employment service(s) for persons with disability, including those with mental health problems. According to MASE, services are being provided by more than one entity and substantial  funds, both national and EU, are being used ofr these services. MASE is concerned that Malta lacks behind with persons with disability in employment.

The project will conduct a study into the situation of Supported Employment for people with disabilities in Malta, who are underrepresented in the Malted labour market as confirmed by the Malta 2022 Country report. The study will identify the key stakeholders in the current delivery of SE services and through the methodology of questionnaires, face-to-face interviews and follow up, the study will be able to provide an accurate picture of SE in Malta.

The study is important not only for persons with disability and their families but also for planning and funding authorities. Moreover, the current service providers and future ones will benefit from the recommendations that will be an integral part of the project.

There is a recognised SE model being used throughout Europe and the study will be able to benchmark the situation here with others.
